Fearless: The time I broke a vase.

I sat on a couch
in the house
bouncing a ball
against the wall.

Tell me my thoughts, a-bounce.
Clear out my head, a-bounce.

Bounce, bounce, bounce.

What ta-do, what ta-do, what ta-do...ta-da! Caught.

Bounce, bounce, bounce

Bounce.
The ball hits slanted.
Rebound.
Broken Vase.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhattered.

Shit.
Antique emptiness, busted on the floor.
Glass out, thumb-tacks valueless now.
Flower petals lying, dying, crying, drying on the floor.
Cephalitic crunch; gastric carbonation;
Tongue - dry brillo-pad - scouring excuses:
"Quacking truck; railroad cars made criminally creeking
table creak dis-creatively;
Crickets legions - Colonel Al-Gaddafi cruel -
breezed in, broke down, coup-d'etated - capered back.
Crickets are the kriffing-culpo-raf!" Yet the
Glass - curds creaming the carpet - will never
convalesce. "Ah! And the coinage? oh, just crucify!
Can't derive, concede, convene a cost.
Convexed, convexed, convexed!
A crook cruxed-up all
Catatonic: catatonic,
a charlatin! catatonic."
Corrupt.

Calm down.
 breath, breath, breath
Guilt, relent.
 breath, breath, breath.

There are pieces, still

...and they sparkle with a yellow persistance:
a subtle white light with flecks of jaundice,
The sheddings of a long dead star.

Breath.
 breath, breath, breath
Breath.
 breath, breath, breath.
Breath.
 breath, breath, breath

It's a lovely, busted beautiful.

I sit
on the couch
in the house
bouncing a ball
against the wall.

Listen to my thoughts, a-bounce.
Clear out my head, a-bounce.

Bounce, bounce, bounce.

Even love isn't perfect.

Bounce, bounce. bounce.
